Before we meet

You’re probably arriving with one of two feelings.

Hopeful, but cautious.

You know life with your dog can be better. You just want to know whether this is the right path.

Overwhelmed, and unsure who to trust.

You’ve heard conflicting advice and need an honest plan built around your dog, household, and goals.

That’s why I’m sending this prep pack ahead of time — so you can come in with clarity, not uncertainty.

If I am the right fit, you’ll likely feel that before we even meet. And when we do, the evaluation simply becomes the next step in understanding what’s happening, what your dog truly needs, and how we move forward with intention.

No mystery

What happens at the evaluation

Here’s exactly what we’ll do.

01

I’ll get the full picture

I am hoping to see your dog at their worst behavior. I want to see the barking, lunging, growling, and pulling on the leash. This shows me where to start.

02

I’ll assess the dog AND the relationship

Behavior is the symptom. Patterns + structure + follow-through are the root.

03

Together, we will create a vision

Together we will identify what the ideal companion looks like, from gentle walks and polite house manners to off leash obedience.

04

You’ll leave with a clear recommendation

The best path forward for your dog, your household, and your goals.

My core philosophy

Relationship first.

I view the human-dog relationship in a holistic manner. Most problem behaviors — such as leash pulling, reactivity, barking, and nervousness — are a symptom of a bigger problem.

I mend the relationship first by teaching you a healthy way to interact with your dog. Many of these problems simply disappear; if not, specific training is prescribed to address them.

Watch first

Private Lessons

Real dogs. Real results.

What progress can look like

Different dogs. Different challenges. The same focus on confidence, communication, and a plan that works in real life.

Dianna holding Isaac and their obedience training certificate

Dianna + Isaac

“We didn’t know if we would be able to keep him.”

The challenge

Barking at the door when guests arrive, running away, separation anxiety.

Why it worked

We addressed the underlying issue: Isaac’s confidence. By building him up, we allowed him to feel comfortable in almost any situation.

6 weeks — Private Lessons
“We hired a dog trainer for Isaac after he ran off a few months ago and we couldn’t get him to come to us when we found him. Jake Bouldin is like a dog whisperer. He turned Isaac into a different dog!!! He actually turned me into a different owner. I’ve learned so much about my dog from Jake. And I’m so, so excited at how Isaac has responded.”
Ares relaxing near Kristin’s grandsonKristin and Ares with their obedience training certificate

Kristin + Ares

“My family doesn’t feel comfortable with my grandson around Ares.”

The challenge

Wanted to feel comfortable with her dog around her grandson.

Why it worked

We equipped Kristin with the knowledge and skills to adequately control Ares. Through this process, we eliminated conflicts between Kristin and Ares and created a cooperative mindset.

6 weeks — Private Lessons
“Ares and I started training with Jake because I wanted to feel comfortable with him being around our grandson, but we got so much more! We got a bond and a trust that goes both ways. Soon after the training was complete, Ares had CCL surgery. Because of the training, I could trust that he would listen to me, and he could trust that I was helping him. I have no doubt that if Ares had not had the training, his recovery would have been traumatic for both of us and not nearly as successful as it has been.”
Joe and Callie with their obedience training certificate

Joe + Callie

“Do you think you could train Callie to be off leash on my property?”

The challenge

Joe lives outside of town and wanted off leash freedom with his dog.

Why it worked

Callie had very little training when we started the program, but Joe bought in right away. Using the skills we practiced, Joe is now able to reliably take his dog on walks around his property and even takes her to work with him in his semi-truck.

6 weeks — Private Lessons
“I very much recommend Jake for obedience training. He taught me how to work with my dog, Callie. Ever since Callie has had her training, she stays by my side at all times.”

Straight answers

Frequently asked questions

What if my dog is too far gone?

Most dogs aren’t too far gone — they’re stuck in patterns that haven’t been interrupted the right way yet. That’s exactly what we’re here to do. Every dog I’ve worked with has made a noticeable transformation.

How do I know which program is best for my dog?

That’s the whole point of this evaluation. I’ll learn everything about you, your dog, and your lifestyle — and then I’ll give you an honest recommendation.

Can you guarantee results?

I can’t guarantee behavior the way you’d guarantee a product — dogs are living, breathing animals and real change takes time and consistency. What I can tell you is that 100% of the dogs I’ve worked with have made noticeable, meaningful progress by the end of their program. What I guarantee is the effort, the plan, and the honesty.

Can I just do a single lesson?

No — and here’s why. A single lesson gives you tips. Tips are short-term bandages. What we’re building here is a shift in how your dog thinks and how you communicate with each other.

What do I need to do between lessons?

Consistency is everything. The lessons are where we introduce the concepts — home is where they actually take root. I’ll give you clear homework after every session so you always know exactly what to practice. I recommend 10–20 minutes per day of focused training and structured play.

What happens after the program ends?

The program gives you the tools. You keep using them. I also offer follow-up support and additional lessons if you ever want to keep building. The goal is that you leave confident enough to maintain everything on your own.

Are your methods and tools safe for my dog?

Absolutely. Everything I use is introduced gradually, explained clearly, and always used with your dog’s wellbeing as the priority. My goal is simple — clear communication between you and your dog. Happy dogs aren’t confused dogs. They’re dogs that understand what’s expected of them and feel confident because of it.

Pre-commitment

What I need from you.

Prepare these four things before we meet. You don’t need perfect answers — just an honest starting point.

1

Your top 2 goals

What you want life to look like.

2

Your biggest stress moment

The one that makes you dread it.

3

What you’ve already tried

Even if it “failed.”

4

Videos of the worst behaviors

Dogs don’t always show the behavior during an evaluation. Video helps me see what’s really happening.

Everyone thinks they have the best dog in the entire world.

And no one is wrong.
